Believe it or not the Seymour golf team?s season is under way for the fall of 2012.

It was a clean sweep for both the Seymour boys and the girls over Cherokee in Rogersville at McDonald Hills Golf Course.

The Eagles shot a very respectable 160 to Cherokee?s 167, while the Lady Eagles shot a 90 to Cherokee?s 111.

The Seymour boys were led by Parker Rudder and Justus Murphy as both played very solid with a score of 36 each.

They were followed by sophomore Brandon Cravens with a 40 and Peyton Presley with a 48.

?I was very pleased with our players both boys and girls,? said Seymour Golf Coach Gary Householder.? ?Parker (Rudder) and Justus (Murphy) both played very consistent. Brandon (Cravens) was a big plus with a 40.? He was playing in position five for the match but shot much better than he has been in practice.? He birdied the first hole.? That gave him confidence to play well the rest of the match.?

The Lady Eagles were led by sophomore Cheyenne Nieman and freshman Camille Davis who each shot 45 to lead their team over the Lady Chiefs.

?I was very pleased and surprised with our girls? opening play,? said Householder.? ?The girls don?t have a super star but they complement each other very well.? They played very consistent.?

Next up for the Seymour Linksters will be the Morristown Invitational.
