AnimalHaus Bi-Annual Newsletter | Animal Haus

biannual newsletterIt has been really busy at the Haus lately! We are proud to say that the word is getting out about the services that are offered through the pet food pantry and as a result, we are helping more pets stay with their families! The Animal Haus Pet Food Pantry (AHPFP) provides temporary nutritional assistance to pets of families who meet income qualifications. The family must complete an application, a checklist agreeing to adhere to a set of basic pet care practices and show verification of need. Once those qualifications are met, Animal Haus can provide pet food to the family once a month, up to eight months out of a year. After the year has passed, the family can reapply if they find that they need continued assistance through the pet food pantry.

Animal Haus set two 2013 goals for the pet food pantry:
1. Prevent homelessness of 120 pets by temporarily providing food to eligible families.
2. Serve 100 different families? pets in the Denver Metro area through the AHPFP.Half way through the year, AHPFP has achieved the first goal and has provided food to 122 pets!

Although AHPFP primarily serves dogs and cats, we have also provided food to finches, hamsters, gerbils, parrots, ferrets, fish, a pet mouse, a pet rat, and a rabbit!
AHPFP is on track to meet the second goal as well, having served 53 different families through the end of June! The majority of families we serve live in Denver and Adams counties but we also serve families in Jefferson, Arapahoe and even Boulder counties!

We?re making in convenient for you to help! Animal Haus has its first permanent location for food donations!
