POSITION SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Manager has various generalist HR responsibilities for the school, including but not limited to employee relations, establishing and monitoring of policies and procedures, managing employee records, benefits and compensation, managing legal compliance and staffing. Serves as resource person for all staff by communicating and/or disseminating information to staff, interpreting and responding to inquiries regarding administration of HR policies, guidelines and regulations, and administrative policies and procedures. The HR Manager will assist the Head of School and the Director of Finance in advancing the mission of the organization.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES ? Assist Director of Finance in development of employee benefits budget, negotiation of annual contracts enrollment and termination of employee participation, notification to insurance companies. Provides oversight to the administration of employee benefits, workers? compensation, and retirement programs. ? Ensure all benefits plans comply with applicable laws and statutes (HIPPA, ERISA, IRS guidelines). ? Coordinate and manage the process of recruiting and selection of Galloway non-teaching staff and school administrative personnel. Prepares and manages employment contracts for faculty; prepares standard offer letters for non-teaching staff. ? Coordinate and manage the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures; communicate HR policies, rules and regulations to employees. Assist with problem resolution. Maintain employee handbook and recommend changes or additions. ? Ensure compliance with employee files and confidential files, both hard copy and electronic files. ? Ensure compliance with state and federal laws, regulations, standards and guidelines (IRS, FMLA, HIPAA, ERISA, ADA, OSHA, Title VII, FLSA, COBRA, etc.). Oversees the audit process for required reporting and filings as required by regulatory agencies. ? Serve as advisor to supervisors in the resolution of HR matters in their area of responsibility. Guides employees in seeking resolutions to employee relations concerns. ? Develop/edit/update job descriptions for all employees. ? Supervise the performance evaluation process of all personnel within the school system. Track performance evaluation for all employees. ? Assist with employee separation process for both voluntary/involuntary terminations. ? Plan and conduct new employee orientation; implement a follow-up plan to ensure acclimation to the Galloway culture; manages exit interview programs. ? Assist with development and maintenance of faculty and staff compensation programs and pay changes; provides for competitive and equitable compensation programs by preparing position descriptions, obtaining external salary information, maintaining FLSA classification plans and recommending salary adjustments. ? Assist with training of leadership team on HR topics. ? Continually monitor HRIS/payroll system data for accuracy as to compensation, deductions, employee data tracking, etc. ? Serves as EEO and HIPAA Officer. ? Oversees implementation and enforcement of confidentiality, conflict of interest, discrimination and other policies relevant to employee relations. ? Plans and prepares employee information for employees on leaves of absence, retirees and terminating employees, etc.; tasks include preparing materials, scheduling meetings, explaining benefits, responding to inquiries and unique circumstances, and follow up with payroll and appropriate sources. ? Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

60% - Interacting with other employees and external contacts via telephone, written communications and in-person 20% - Designing programs and analyzing data 20% - Working on a desktop or laptop computer

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: A minimum of a bachelor?s degree; master?s degree preferred

Experience: 5-7 years of related human resources generalist experience

Competencies: Need to possess strong interpersonal and customer service skills, ability to communicate effectively, work efficiently, independently with accuracy, maintain confidential information, exercise sound judgment, make accurate and timely decisions, the ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast paced environment, and have strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Licenses and Certifications: PHR or SPHR certification

Specialized Skills: Must be intermediate level on MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint. Use of Paylocity or other HRIS program preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position will be in an office environment.

There is very limited travel.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Job requires mainly sitting but may also require standing while conducting training. Excellent vision, hearing and speech are required to perform essential functions of the job.
