Legion/prep baseball roundup: Post 83 goes 1-3 in DHs

The Sheboygan Post 83 Legion baseball team went 1-3 over two doubleheaders Friday and Saturday.

Sheboygan (3-7) lost 6-5 and 9-1 at Neenah on Saturday, a day after splitting two at home with Kimberly, losing 6-4 and winning 5-4.

In the opener against Neenah, Tanner Reklaitis took the loss in 3.1 innings of work, allowing three runs with seven walks.

Cody Weis went 3-for-4 with two RBI, Garett Rivest and Anthony Presutti each went 2-for-4 with a run and Carter Amundson knocked in a pair.

In the Game 2 loss, Amundson allowed five earned runs in less than an inning of work. Ben Gordon went the final 5.1 innings.

Aaron Thorn scored the team's run, knocked in by Gordon.

In the loss to Kimberly, Amundson went 2-for-3 with a triple and run scored, Aaron Peterson went 2-for-3 with an RBI and Taylor Ditter went 2-for-4 with a double and RBI.

Ditter took the loss, allowing six runs, five earned, with nine strikeouts and four walks.

In the victory, Post 83 managed just five hits, but had the big one when Austin Greinke hit a hard shot at the first basemen, who couldn't corral it, and Rivest scored from second for a walk-off win.

Justin Smith went two innings of no-hit relief for the win.

Sheboygan hosts the Green Bay Shockers on Monday at 7:30 p.m.

West Bend West 11,New Holstein 1

New Holstein, playing on the road, grabbed a 1-0 lead after the top of the first inning. But it was all downhill from there.

West Bend scored three runs in the bottom of the third and scored two runs in four other innings.
